A joyous gathering

Our final event of a busy year was a joyous community get together. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make the Christmas Fair such a success, including Hemmingfords who sponsored the event. Blessed with mild and dry weather we drank the mulled wine stall dry and consumed every cake and savoury kindly donated by generous neighbours. The Pack Up donations table groaned from the weight of the gifts so kindly given. The final tally of yesterday's takings is a record beating £2,600 to Pack Up, so they can continue their much-needed work.

Carollers at the Christmas Fair.

2023 saw not only this event, but the Coronation Big Lunch, the Summer Fete and 12 community gardening days. We renovated the 2 southerly central flower beds, planted thousands of bulbs and plants, spread many many tonnes of compost. New neighbours and volunteers were welcomed and sadly we said farewell to others who had made such a positive impact on their community.

2024 will be another busy year as we push forward with the renovation of the northerly central beds (donations towards the planting can still be made at http://www.bit.ly/rosebeds). The first Community Gardening Day is Saturday 20th January and it won't be too long until we start to plan the next Summer Fete.

Our achievements and ambitions as an organisation are completely dependent on those who volunteer and contribute to our mission to build a better neighbourhood and a stronger community. Sincere thanks to everyone who has supported us during 2023.

Festive greetings to one and all and best wishes for 2024.
